About Me

I empower women in managing their negative self-talk and limiting beliefs, through Nutrition Therapy, mindset shift, and sustainable self-care routine. I will encourage you to take small practical steps towards the life you have envisioned for yourself, but are too afraid to go after it because of your fear of failing or not believing that it is possible.

Let me show you how easy it is to have the life you want. I will show you that it is possible to break free from the vicious cycle and journey toward the life you deserve. You just need to be able to give yourself permission to be happy.

My job as a health coach is not to fix you, but to help you identify, explore & take a birds-eye view of the obstacles that are holding you back from reaching your health goals. Keeping that in mind, these perspectives are coming from your past experiences, childhood trauma, upbringing, environment, & cultural restrictions.

Through the use of Nutrition Therapy, behavioral changes, and self-care tools I will teach you how easy it is to initiate a positive mindset shift. The results will be a life full of confidence, more clarity, and courage to go after the life you want for yourself. No longer will you procrastinate, make excuses, lose motivation, or get frustrated. Collectively we will create a practical, achievable, and sustainable plan to reach!

It’s never too late to invest in your health and well-being. You can and should have the life you want.

Be the change you wish to see in this world

My name isNirmala

Three people standing

I am a single mother of two amazing kids. I was born in Trinidad and currently live in Canada. I am a simple person who enjoys being outdoor in nature, which energizes me. Spending time with my kids uplifts and inspires me. I have seen what the power of a positive mindset can do and I am determined to help others find the spark of positivity and divinity within them.

It was not always like that for me. For years I have been living a life not aligned with my core values. I was existing, not living. And all through those years, I felt like I was dying inside. I was suppressing the real me because of fear, shame, and judgment that would be the consequences of me living my true self. You see I was living to please others and to satisfy the obligations that were understood as a girl growing up in a culturally driven family and environment.

This self-doubting trait was instilled in me at an early age. As a young girl growing up in a family and culture that holds status and reputation more than the need of a girl was very suffocating for me. I knew at an early age, this is not what I wanted my life to be. Yet there was no way of escaping the outcome. The week I turned 20, my marriage was arranged to someone I had met for two hours. Even though I said I didn’t want this, I was told that this was in my best interest.

After 22 years of living a life of loneliness and being unhappy, I decided to take control of my life. I found the courage, strength, and power within me to break free from this life. My fears, shame, and judgment were a small price to pay compared to the benefits of living the life I deserved and now enjoy.

I am a certified Nutritionist and certified Integrated Health Coach. Currently working as a Food Service Supervisor and Diet Tech in the Health industry. I have a background of over 15 years experience in business management.

A proud member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) and one of the co-founders of YN Nourishment for Your Souls’ Wellness. I am dedicated to empowering women ages 25+ who feel lost, lonely, stuck, and having difficulty finding the courage to live the life they have envisioned for themself.
Women whose biggest obstacles are themselves, because of their low self-confidence and self doubting mindset. I have been there. I know the challenges and frustration you feel. I would like to let you know that you can and should have the life you want and deserve

We should all have the freedom of choice to live life on our own terms. Only then can the greatness within us shine through. I believe we all have the capacity of goodness within us. Each of us should be guided by our Thoughts, Words, Deeds, and Actions. Once these are in motion, we can do our part to help each other become the best version of ourselves. Oftentimes, I’ve been told how naïve I am in thinking this way.

However, I do believe that we are a product of our upbringing, past experience, cultural bias, society, etc. And each of us will adapt and evolve in our own unique way as part of our survival instinct. I do understand that some of us are stronger than others mentally and there are many factors to this.

I truly believe that we need to take each person into unique consideration instead of just judging the things we see on the surface. When someone is depressed, lonely, angry, rude – these are all signs of past hurt and pain. How can you begin to address your health issues without first addressing your emotional and mental state? These are all connected.

We all have busy lives, and it’s sometimes difficult to stop and take note of the many things we do daily that impacts our lives negatively. Over time we begin to feel the weight of these things compounded over the weeks, months, and years. These begin to manifest itself into aches and pains and later develops into chronic disease.

Then we go to the doctor and they begin to treat our symptoms, while the root causes are not being looked at. So we find ourselves taking a pill which comes with side effects causing further health concerns . When all that is required is for us to make the time to practice self care by addressing our stress, anxiety, bad diet, unhealthy relationships and lack of rest etc. By being proactive and making yourself a priority, you will be practicing preventative care, so you don’t progress to disease care.

Woman on a Bridge

I decided to become a Health Coach so I can begin to teach people how simple it is to live a happy, energetic and disease free life. It is my dream that if I help people understand the importance of looking after their health now. We would not have seniors dealing with disease care. But seniors live a vital and energetic life, enjoying their health which is truly their wealth. Can you imagine the joy of being retired without the cost of healthcare and disease care weighing you down?

My reason for focusing on women is that women are the nurturers of our future generation. We are courageous. fearless and capable of achieving anything we put our mind to. However, some women today are still living in places and conditions that cause emotional and mental stress. Because they cannot live the way they desire, out of fear, shame, and embarrassment brought forth by the very same society and family that they spend their life serving.

There are women we see every day holding high corporate positions and caring for their families. You don’t see their pain, but in their quiet moments, they feel hurt, scared, and trapped. They don’t have any support system and don’t know of options available to them. They are held hostage because of their obligation to their kids, family, society and have resigned themselves that this is the life they have to live.

I hope to empower, motivate and encourage women to take small, practical, and consistent steps towards building healthy habits. Practicing consistent self-care and realizing your self-confidence will have you gaining clarity about what you want. This will give you the courage to go after what you desire. These habits over time will transform you into the very best version of yourself. If we aspire to do this, we will be the changes we want to see and leave this world a better place than when we came here.

Thank you for being here and stay tuned for valuable information that you can integrate into your daily life and share with someone who might benefit from this info.
